REPORT ON INTER-HOUSE ZIG ZAG RACE & BALLOON BURSTING COMPETITION

CBSE BOYS & GIRLS (NURSERY, LKG & UKG) – 2026–27

INTRODUCTION

The Inter-House Zig Zag Race and Balloon Bursting Competition for CBSE Boys and Girls (Nursery, LKG & UKG) was successfully organized by the Department of Physical Education on 22 & 23 July 2026 (Wednesday & Thursday) as part of the Inter-House Sports and Games Programme for the academic year 2026–27. The championship witnessed enthusiastic participation from the four prestigious houses—Raman House, Gandhi House, Tagore House, and Vinobha House—with young learners competing in a spirit of enthusiasm, confidence, discipline, and sportsmanship.

The competitions were specially designed to introduce children to organized sports while developing their speed, agility, balance, coordination, concentration, confidence, and teamwork. Separate events were conducted for boys and girls, providing equal opportunities for every participant to showcase their abilities in a safe, enjoyable, and encouraging environment.

The event created an atmosphere of excitement and healthy competition, helping students build self-confidence and develop a positive attitude towards sports from an early age.

OBJECTIVES

The Inter-House Zig Zag Race and Balloon Bursting Competition was organized to:

• Encourage active participation in sports from an early age.

• Improve speed, agility, balance, and body coordination.

• Develop concentration, confidence, and quick reflexes.

• Promote teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.

• Foster healthy inter-house competition.

• Identify and encourage young sporting talent for future competitions.

Students from Nursery, LKG, and UKG enthusiastically participated in the Balloon Bursting and Zig Zag Race competitions. The events tested speed, coordination, agility, concentration, and quick decision-making while encouraging confidence and teamwork. The competitions were conducted under the supervision of the Department of Physical Education, ensuring discipline, safety, and fair play throughout the championship.

Pranav N delivered an outstanding performance with the fastest timing to secure the championship title in the Boys' Balloon Bursting event.

Gandhi House emerged as the most consistent performer across the championship with several podium finishes, while Vinobha House excelled in the girls' events through outstanding performances. Tagore House celebrated success by producing the Boys' Balloon Bursting Champion, and Raman House also delivered commendable performances throughout the competitions. Every participant displayed enthusiasm, discipline, courage, and sportsmanship, making the event both exciting and memorable.

The school extends its heartfelt congratulations to all the winners and participants and expresses sincere gratitude to the Principal, Department of Physical Education, teachers, House Masters, officials, volunteers, and support staff for their valuable support in organizing the championship successfully.

The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony where the winners were honoured with medals and certificates amidst loud applause and appreciation. The championship celebrated not only the achievements of the young athletes but also the enduring values of confidence, discipline, teamwork, perseverance, healthy competition, and sportsmanship, making it a memorable and successful event in the Inter-House Sports Calendar 2026–27.
